Obituary of Marion L. Asher

Asher: Marion Louise (nee Allison), A resident of Chatham and formerly of Dover Centre, Marion Asher passed away at home, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (nee Steeper) Allison. Loving wife of the late Barry F. Asher (1997). Marion will be forever missed by her dear best friend Walter Clements. Loving mother to Jim and Joseé Asher, Connie and Stephen Richards. Sadly missed by her grandchildren- Kari, Sean, Stephanie and Janet; step-grandchildren Michelle, Darren and Julie; great-grandchildren Paxton, Lexus and Phoeynx; step-great-grandchildren Ruby, Libby, Bianca and Jack. Dear sister to Bill and Helen Allison. Predeceased by her siblings- Carl Allison, Estelle Maris, Helen Hentgen, Winnifred Burroughs, Aileen Coltart, Maybelle, Mears, Jack Allison and Dorothy Williams. Marion had a strong faith and was a member of Sprucedale United Church. She enhanced and shared her faith with her fellow members of the Bible Study group at Calvary Church. She was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters, the Active Lifestyle Centre and was active with the Meals to Wheels program before she became too ill. Family and friends will also forever remember Marion for her love of life. She loved to play cards, dance often, and travel. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Pat Milliken officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Marion’s life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
