Obituary of Stafford Wilt

WILT: Stafford George. (M.M.M., C.D.) A resident of Blenheim, Stafford Wilt passed away suddenly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Monday, March 15, 2010 at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, New Brunswick, son of the late Frederick and Mary (Vienneau) Wilt. Beloved husband of the late Hazel Eva (Lowe) Wilt (2003). Dear father of John Wilt and his wife Jacqueline of Fredericton, N.B., and Herb Wilt of Ingersoll. Brother of Dorothy McCormack of Saint John, N.B., and the late Mary Totten, Frances Murphy, Jean Russell, Verne Johnston, Harry, Frederick, and Herb Wilt. Brother-in-law of Hugh Johnston of Blenheim. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wilt served with the Canadian Forces for 36 years and retired as Chief Warrant Officer. During his career, he served as Chief Warrant Officer of the Canadian Forces in Europe, Regimental Sgt. Major with the Canadian Artillery, as well as with the Combat Training Centre at C.F.B. Gagetown. He was a member of the Order of Military Merit. Mr. Wilt was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #185 Blenheim, Kent Lodge #274 A.F. & A.M., and the Valley of Saint John (Rose Croix). Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. and a Masonic Lodge Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. David Fuller of Trinity Anglican Church officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
