Obituary of Antonia Brinkman

A resident of Chatham, Antonia Brinkman passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance- Chatham Campus on Friday, March 19, 2010 at the age of 98. Born in Russia, daughter of the late John and Emily (nee Laub) Donst. Dear wife of the late August Brinkman (1977). Dear mother of Earl and Ruth Brinkman of Chatham, Marlene and Ellwood Johnson of Peterborough and Linda Weeks of Chatham. Proud grandmother to Karen Hauca (Mark), Jeff Brinkman (Becky), Mark Brinkman (Trisha), Lisa Lethangue (Jeremy), Tim Johnson, Kevin and Stacey Weeks; great-grandmother to Samuel Hauca, Ella and Grace Brinkman, Noah Brinkman, Brooke and Hunter Lethangue, Kaitlyn Weeks. Antonia is survived by her sisters Emma Paschke, Margaret Schostak and her brother-in-law Ike Klassen all of Kelowna, B.C. She is predeceased by her sisters Molly Wieser and Mary Klassen, and her brother Herb Donst. Antonia was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 100 McNaughton Ave. W. from 10:30 a.m. until the service to celebrate Antonia’s life at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Andrew Martin officiating. A private family interment to follow. Memorial donations to honour Antonia’s life can be made to the Gideon Bible Society, Emmanuel Baptist Church (Music & Creative Arts) and would be appreciated by the family.
