Obituary of Wesley Gerald Arnold

ARNOLD, Wesley Gerald A resident of Chatham, Wes Arnold passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at the Chatham Retirement Resort, at the age of 89. Born in Chatham Township, son of the late Elmer & Olive (Williston) Arnold. Beloved husband of the late Delma (Couture) Arnold (2004). Cherished special friend of Betty Judd. Loving father of Margaret & Ken Yott of RR #1 Chatham, and Ruth & Steve Howlett of London. Wes was the proud grandfather of Brian & Penelope Yott, James & Cynthia Yott, Darlene & Dennis Reid, and Wendy Teahen. He will be remembered by his great grandchildren Sabrina, Marissa, Latavia, Angelica, Zachary, Logan, and Mya. Wes is survived by his sister Iva Mae Mardling and her husband John of Harwich. Predeceased by his sister Mildred Arnold and his brother Rennie Arnold. Wes was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #628. He served overseas in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. during WWII, seeing action in Italy & Belgium. He spent many years farming in Chatham Township and retired from Ontario Steel (Rockwell) after 30 years. Please join the family as they receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Monday, April 19 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. and all members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 628 are asked to attend. Funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Deacon Elaine Wilcox officiating. Interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery.
