Obituary of Robert F. Addy

ADDY, Robert (Bob), A resident of Chatham, Bob passed away at home, after a year long courageous battle with cancer, in the arms of the love of his life Linda on Sunday, April 25, 2010. He was also comforted by Jill and his son Duane who he was so proud of. Born in St. Thomas, Ontario 67 years ago. Beloved husband and best friend to Linda Addy (nee Dawdy). Proud father to Duane Addy of Chatham and wife Jill. Forever missed by his grandson and best buddy Jacob Addy (I LOVE YOU MUCHY MUCHY PAPA!). He is survived by his mother-in-law Isabel Dawdy. Predeceased by his father-in-law Roy Dawdy. Brother-in- law to Larry Dawdy and wife Sue and their son Christopher. Bob will also be dearly missed by a wonderful circle of friends and hand picked brothers Larry Tuck, Wade Peever and Ed Stavert. A special thank-you is extended to Janice Glassford of the VON for her loving care and dedicated support to Bob and all the family. Bob was a former paramedic with the Chatham & District Ambulance Service and in later years worked for the Chatham Water Commission until his retirement. At Bob's request there will be no visitation and following his cremation a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor James Tiffin officiating. Memorial donations to honour Bob’s life, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the V.O.N. and would be appreciated by the family.
