Obituary of Ben Johnston

JOHNSTON: Benjamin Peter A resident of Chatham, Ben Johnston passed away suddenly on Monday, April 26, 2010, in Chatham, at the age of 20. Born in Welkom South Africa, dearly beloved son of Peter & Lucy Johnston of Chatham. Ben is missed by his beloved sister and “other half” Kaitlin Johnston of Chatham. Cherished grandson of Shirley & Kurt Michels of Chatham, Don & Judy Johnston of Mitchell’s Bay, and the late Joanne Johnston. Ben will be remembered by his girlfriend Kaitlin Montgomery of Chatham, and all his good friends, whom he loved. He is survived by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada, South Africa, and around the world. Ben loved art with a particular passion for music and playing his guitar. He loved The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. Ben had an appreciation for the little things in life and he put his whole heart into whatever interested him. He was easy to talk to and had a big heart, qualities that his good friends from school and university will miss and remember about him. Please join Ben’s family as they receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, on Wednesday, April 28, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Ben’s Life will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by visitation from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
