Obituary of Lorne Ernest Northcott

NORTHCOTT: Lorne Ernest - A resident of Chatham, Lorne Northcott passed away at his residence with family by his side on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the age of 79. Born in Camden Township, Lorne was the son of the late George and Katie (McKerracher) Northcott. Beloved husband of Irene Northcott. Loving father of Cheryl Northcott (Fred Meyers) of Amherst, Nova Scotia and Michael Northcott of Chatham. Lorne is predeceased by his first wife Ellen (Bell) Northcott (1994). Dearly missed by his step children Terry Reed (Marlene) of Peterborough, Brian Reed (Marlette) of Calgary, Karen Reed of Calgary and David Reed (Jessie) of Waterloo. Proud grandfather of Jordan Howell and his five step-grandchildren. Great-grandfather of Kiara Howell. Lorne is survived by his sister Grace Weaver (Charles) of Chatham Township and his brother Wilfred Northcott (Orilla) of Dresden. Also survived by his brother-in-law Sam Phillips of Wabash. Predeceased by his sister Elsie Phillips. Lorne farmed in Dawn Township for over 30 years and was a member of the Chatham Christian Centre. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 with Rev. Paul McPhail officiating. Interment Dresden Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Lorne to the Chatham Christian Centre or Gideon Bibles would be appreciated by the family.
