Obituary of Sylvia Katherine Kucera

Kucera: Sylvia Katherine (nee Kemp). A resident of Chatham, Sylvia Kucera passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the age of 70. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late John and Mary (nee Slavkovsky) Kemp. Loving wife of Edward Kucera. Dear Mother of Rick and Donna Kucera of Chatham, and their children Lee, Jana and Logan Kucera; Lisa and Mike Johnson of London and their children Brett and Jake Johnson; Lynn Kucera of Chatham and her children Cheyanne Brown and Riley Kucera. Survived by her sister Mary Anne and her husband Mike Killby also of Chatham. Sister-in-law to Adolf Kucera of Belle River and his late wife Marguerite. Sylvia will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. She was a former employee of Daymond’s, the O.P.P., Chrysler Shillington and the City of Chatham where she worked in the Treasury Department before her retirement in 1999. Sylvia will also be fondly remembered for her love of bowling, gardening and her involvement with the Sweet Adelines. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham this Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Cremation to follow.
