Obituary of Mary Evelyn Ellis

ELLIS, Mary Evelyn; On Friday, July 16, 2010, Evelyn Ellis (nee Stirling) passed away in her 94th year. Born in Harwich Township, she became the beloved wife of the late Lyle Edward Ellis (1974). Loving mother of Betty Jean (Patrick Moore) of Chatham, Edward (Donna) of Port Stanley, Mary Baker (Tom Nanasi) of London, David (Margaret), John (Rose), Jim, and Norman (Gina) all of Chatham. She was predeceased by one son, Kenneth (1956). Evelyn was the proud grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grand-children. Lyle and Evelyn farmed and raised their family on the 8th Line, Raleigh. Evelyn was a life long and active member of Wesley United Church. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for the excellent care given to our mother by Dr. Haddad, Dr. Denys and the staff of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. at the McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St, Chatham on Saturday, July 24, 2010, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Margaret Trapnell will officiate.
