Obituary of Mitch Miletic

MILETIC, Mitch, A resident of Chatham, Mitch Miletic passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance. Born in Noranda, Quebec son of the late Katherina (Miskulin) & Marko Miletic. Beloved husband of 51 years to Helga (Kiel). Cherished father of Patricia (Ken) Allan of Thunder Bay and Carolyn (Tom) Alexander of Fergus. Proud grandfather of Richard, Drew & Jackie, and Derek Allan and Caitlin, Sam and Charlie Alexander. Mitch was predeceased by his brother Matt (Mary)Miletic and his sister Mary Smith. Survived by his brother in law Bob Smith. Dear uncle of several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by several sisters in-law and brothers in-law in Germany. Mitch was a dedicated mathematics teacher for many years and taught in Sudbury, Germany, St. Catherines, Kapuskasing, Chatham Collegiate Institute, for C.I.D.A. in Nigeria and Barbados, and for 25 years at Lambton Kent Composite School. He was an avid golfer and curler. Mitch was the past president of the Children’s Aid Society and a member of Kiwanis Golden K. Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 2:00-4:00p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service honouring Mitch will take place from the Funeral Home on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m with Father Daniel Bombardier officiating. Cremation with interment at a later date in Maple Leaf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mitch to the Canadian Cancer Society and Sleeping Children Around the World would be appreciated by the family.
