Obituary of Wayne Phillips

Phillips: Wayne. Surrounded by his family, Wayne Phillips of Guilds died on September 6, 2010 at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital, Windsor, at the age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Rogers) Phillips; children Lorrie Phillips (Kent) of Chatham, Mark Phillips (Linda) of Blenheim, and David Phillips (Deb) of St. Thomas; grandchildren Megan, Myles, Taylor, Chad, and Scott; and brother Wray Phillips (Jean) of Highgate. Special cousin of Bernice Avery of Toronto. Predeceased by his mother Evelyn (McKay) Phillips and loving uncle Ed McKay, and brother Ross Phillips. Wayne will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He will also be fondly remembered by Barbara’s brothers and sisters. Wayne was very proud to be a sixth generation farmer on the family farm in Guilds, Ontario. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Wanda Burse officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations in Wayne’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society for the “Blenheim Relay For Life” would be appreciated.
