Obituary of Dorothy 'Jean' Bennett

BENNETT: Dorothy JEAN (nee Hasson)- Passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Copper Terrace Nursing Home at the age of 94. Jean was the daughter of the late William James and Maria (Dale) Hasson. Beloved wife of the late Solomon Sherwood Bennett (1965) of Charing Cross. Predeceased by her sons Gordon William Bennett (1999) and his wife Benita (1992) and Thomas Gerald Bennett (1999). Loving mother of Glen Bennett and his wife Sandra of Port Lambton, Marva Jean Bassi and her late husband Walter (2007) of Windsor and Cindy Wilson and her husband Dan of London. Predeceased by Solomon’s son Milo Bennett (1997) and his wife Josephine (1996). Survived by her daughter-in-law Deanna Joyce Bennett. Proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Jean is predeceased by all of her siblings. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Margaret Trapnell officiating. Interment to follow at Pardoville-Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Charing Cross United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
