Obituary of Elizabeth Storey

Storey: Elizabeth (nee Raw). A resident of Blenheim and formerly of Windsor, Elizabeth Storey passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the age of 94. Born in Manchester, England daughter of the late Tom and Elizabeth Raw. Beloved wife of the late Horace Storey. Dear mother of Dorothy and Jim Dewitte of Blenheim. Proud grandmother of Lauren Malott of London, Kelly Malott of Vancouver and great-grandmother to Nathan and Jack. She is predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters. Elizabeth was a Nurses’ Aide working at the former Grace Hospital in Windsor before retiring. During the Second World War, Elizabeth defended her country of birth, England, by serving with 33rd Anti-Aircraft Brigade. She will also be forever remembered by her family for her love of books and classical music. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. David Fuller officiating. Interment to take place at Victoria Memorial Gardens in Oldcastle, Ontario. Memorial donations to honour Elizabeth’s life can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
