Obituary of Raymond LaMonte

LaMONTE: Raymond Harry Michael– A resident of Chatham, Ray LaMonte passed away at his residence with his wife by his side on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Virginia LaMonte (nee Erickson). Loving father of Stuart LaMonte (Janet) of New Westminster, B.C. and Michael LaMonte of London. Predeceased by his daughter Susan Willis (1996) and son Daniel LaMonte. Ray is survived by his son-in-law Jon Willis (Marrianne) of Chatham. Proud grandfather and great-grandfather of seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by 1 niece and 1 nephew. Predeceased by his sister Marion Jeffrey (1997). Ray was a veteran who served overseas during World War II and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 628 for over 64 years. Ray was also the former owner of Ray LaMonte Dart Supplies. Family to receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Legion Service to be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Cremation to follow. Donations made in memory of Ray to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
