Obituary of John M. 'Jack' Carruthers

A resident of Blenheim, Jack Carruthers passed away with family by his side at the Village Nursing Home in Ridgetown on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Bette Anne (Gray) Carruthers (2008). Loving father of David Carruthers (Dr. Jane Charters) of Toronto and Anne O’Brien and her husband John of Blenheim. Proud grandfather of Heather, Ian and Erin O’Brien and Laura and Rachel Carruthers. Jack had a love for old cars and old trains. He owned and operated J.M. Carruthers Ford Lincoln Mercury in Blenheim for 23 years, and was a member of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada. Jack also served in World War II with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 185 and was also a Shriner and a Mason. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Blenheim United Church on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Atkinson and Legion Padre Bill Terris officiating.
