Obituary of Elvyn Charles Doan

DOAN: Elvyn Charles – A resident of Rondeau Park, and formerly of St Thomas, Elvyn Doan passed away at his residence with family by his side on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the age of 76. Born in St Thomas, Elvyn was the son of the late Clarence and Lauretta (Wright) Doan. Beloved husband of the late Lylamae (Neeb) Doan (2006). Loving father of Patty Crow of St Thomas, Sylvia Morrow (Peter) of St Thomas, Gerry Howick (Doug) of West Lorne, Gord McKenzie of Calgary, Alberta, Tom McKenzie of Calgary, Alberta, Lorraine Ouimette and the late Russ of St Thomas, Ruth Huckle (Dan) of Shrewsbury, Paulene Hinds (John) of Newcastle, Suzan Lozon (Dan) of Merlin, and Kathleen Wingrove-Smith of Shrewsbury (and the late Carl Smith (2010) of Bothwell). Proud grandfather of Ben Crow (Lindsay), Anna Palka, Joe Palka (Christine), Lisa Palka, Joel Huckle, Jaimee Huckle, Joey Hinds, Lacey Hinds, Jonah Hinds, Miranda “Ru” Hinds, Eric Dedrick, Ashleigh Dedrick, Danni Lozon, Trish Lozon and Julia Smith. Great-grandfather of Emma Marie Crow. Also survived by sister-in-law Jean and predeceased by his brother Gordon Doan. Uncle to Roxanne Blackman (Ken), Randy Doan (Shelley) and Bonnie Hinschberger (Dennis) and their families. Elvyn worked with Chrysler as a mechanic for several years in both St Thomas and Chatham. A Graveside Service will be held at Morpeth Cemetery on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Terris officiating.
