Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Gold

Gold: Mary Elizabeth (nee Kane), March 10, 1959 - November 6, 2010 A resident of R.R#1 Blenheim, Mary Gold passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus, with her loving family by her side, at the age of 51, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Royal Oak Michigan and was the cherished daughter of Shirley Kane and the late Dan Kane (2004). Daughter in-law of Gwendolyne Gold and the late Orville Gold (1990). She is predeceased by her husband Barry Gold (2009). Loving mother to Jeremy and Wendy Gold (nee Verscheure), Brandon Gold, Erica Gold, Matthew Gold and step-mother to Courtney and (Jeff Mason). She is predeceased by an infant daughter Mary Elizabeth in 1986. She was the proud grandmother to Samantha and step-grandmother to Mackenzie, Madelyn and Coleton. Dear sister to Charlotte Kane, Janet and Jim Barney, Dan and Barb Kane, Debbie and Doug Patterson, David and Jen Kane, John and Maria Kane, Laura and Ross Buel. Mary will also be dearly missed by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Sharlene Gardner (predeceased by brother-in-law Paul), Howard Gold and MaryAnne Udvari, Bradley and Patricia Gold, Jayne and Kenneth Rhodes, Shelley Anne and Joseph Reding, Alex and Lorrie Gold. Her memory will also live on in the hearts and minds of many nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Blenheim. She also volunteered with the local elementary schools. Mary always strived to stay fit; she enjoyed doing Pilates and Yoga. Her strength, positive attitude and dedication to wellness is a memory that will be shared by her family and be a true source of inspiration. The Gold family will receive family and friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park St. Blenheim on Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 95 Marborough St. N. Blenheim at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Mariaraj Irudayam celebrant. Interment to follow at Pardoville Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Mary’s life can be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and would be appreciated by the family.
