Obituary of Lucille 'Lou' Longhurst

Longhurst: Lucille “Lou” (nee Dorion) A resident of Chatham, Lou Longhurst passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus at the age of 84. Born in Tilbury, daughter of the late Fardina and Olivine Dorion. Loving wife of the late Robert Longhurst (1996). Dear mother of Barbara Howe and her husband Ron of Chatham, Kathy Armstrong and her husband Derwyn also of Chatham. Proud grandmother to Robb (Leanne) Howe, Heather Howe, Lyndsay (Tim) Davidson, Ashley Armstrong and great-grandmother to Natalie, Brett and Roy. Dear sister to “Pete” Antoine Dorion of Tilbury. Sister-in-law of Patricia Smrcka. Predeceased by her brothers Adelard Dorion, Elzear Dorion, Philias Dorion, and sisters Exzilda Timothy, Leona Lanoue and Elizabeth Dorion. Lou was a member of the Anglican Church Women at Christ Church in Chatham. She also was a member of the Chatham Active Lifestyle Centre and loved to play cards with friends. Lou’s spirit of volunteerism will long be remembered by her family and the many people she encountered during her 25 years serving with Outreach for Hunger. Family and friends are invited to gather at the McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham (519) 351-2040 on Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church, 80 Wellington St. W. Chatham, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Paul Millward officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
