Obituary of John Lemieux

LEMIEUX: John A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Windsor, John Lemieux passed away with family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the age of 76. Born in Kapaskasing, John was the son of the late Emile and Sophie Lemieux. Beloved husband of Theresa (Parent). Loving father of J.P. Lemieux (Susan Demers) and the late Pauline LaRoche (2008.) Survived by his son-in-law Dan LaRoche of Georgetown. Proud grandfather of Michelle and Mathieu LaRoche, and Justin, Curtis and Arielle Lemieux. Dearly missed by his sisters Annette Parent (Omer) of Georgetown and Aline Haggerty (Doug) of Windsor. Also missed by several nieces and nephews. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active member at St Agnes Church. John was proud of the time he spent in the Canadian Air Force, and of the 31 years he worked for Chrysler in Windsor. John lived for his grandchildren, and thoroughly enjoyed watching them play at various sporting events. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers to be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Agnes Church, 52, Croydon St, Chatham on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
