Obituary of Evelyn Caryn

CARYN: Evelyn Grace (nee Parsons) - A resident of Chatham, Evelyn Caryn passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family by her side on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the age of 71. Born in Harwich Township, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Stuart and Grace (Cudmore) Parsons. Beloved wife of Ceasar A. Caryn for 52 years. Loving mother of Judy Mallette (Ray) of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Aaron Mallette (Sonya Armstrong) and Amanda Mallette (Corey Burrows). Dear sister to Shirley Charbonneau of Ridgetown, Jean Geddis (Tom) of Ridgetown, Janet Squire (Fred) of Thamesville, Mary Traylor (Lloyd) of Ridgetown, Margaret French (Bill) of Mitchell, Bonnie Verfaillie of Chatham and the late William Parsons (2003). Sister-in-law to Jeanine Parsons of Kent Bridge, Lena Blondeel (Rogier) of Grande Pointe and Neftaly Caryn (Betsy) of Alberta. Evelyn had retired from K-Mart in 1998 after 28 years of service. She thoroughly enjoyed bingo and card games and crocheting blankets for her family. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family which often included exchanging recipes. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Heather Scott officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
