Obituary of Leona Suzanna Tetrault

Tetrault, Leona Suzanna, (nee Blondeel), A resident of Grande Pointe, Leona Tetrault passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2010, with family at her side, at the Residence on the Thames, Chatham at the age of 76. She was born on April 17, 1934 in Chatham. Daughter of the late Gustaff Blondeel and Eliza Hoekether, and step-daughter of Victoria Blondeel. Loving wife since August 16, 1952 to Orville S. Tetrault. Wonderful mother to Donald (Ruth) Tetrault of Chatham, Ronald (Michele Howes) of Dover Centre, David (Diane Carey) of Grande Pointe, Annita Zimmerman (Michael Pecaric) of Chatham, Angie Wheeler (Larry Wright) also of Chatham. Predeceased by her son Douglas (1975). Proud grandmother of Candice Zimmerman, Jeremy and Matthew Tetrault, Marcus and Anthony Zimmerman, Steve and Chad Wheeler, Donald Tetrault Jr.; as well, cherished by James, Matthew and Jake Lachance. Predeceased by Jessica Howes. Great-grandmother to Dylan and Jocelyn Tetrault. Kind sister to Roger and Lena Blondeel of Chatham, Mary and Romeo Lucier of Grande Pointe, George and Pat Blondeel of Chatham, Maurice and Suzanne Blondeel of Chatham, Edward Blondeel of Chatham, Jeanne Coopman of Port Lambton, Norman and Janet Blondeel of Kitchener, Jerome Blondeel of Calgary. Predeceased by her brother Charlie Blondeel (1999). Loving sister-in-law of Tina Blondeel of Blenheim, Cecile Lachance of Chatham and Victor and Betty Tetrault also of Chatham. Step-sister to Robert, Irene, Adelson, Isabel (English), Wilfred and John Gobert. Predeceased by Gerard, Edith, Walter and Astrid Gobert. Lee enjoyed life to its fullest, a trait which will be remembered and shared amongst her large loving family. She farmed her entire life, and along with her husband, were one of the first vegetable farmers in Dover. Her family will always remember that Mom put others before herself. Her actions always spoke of this simple truth. She looked forward to social gatherings, to be with those that she cared for and loved. She loved to prepare meals that she could share with family and friends. She cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. We know she loved her life and it has come full circle. Her love and memory will live on in the many lives she has touched. A special thank-you is extended to Carrie Vaughn and Nurse Colleen and all the staff at Residence on the Thames for the tremendous and most compassionate care. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Immaculée Conception Church, 24152 Winter Line Rd. Pain Court at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Greg Bonin celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe. Memorial donations to honour Lee’s life can be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre and would be appreciated by the family.
