Obituary of Harold Lees

LEES: Harold (Al) C. A resident of Chatham, Al Lees passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 74. Born in Cardiff, Wales England, to the late Harold & Iris Lees. Beloved husband and best friend of over 40 years to Hilda (Carley) Lees. Dear father of Dawn Lees & Ed Cole of Pefferlaw, John Lees of Toronto, and Carl Lees of Keswick, and step-father of Michelle Authier & Paul Haslip of Pain Court, and Rob & Jennifer Authier of Brampton. Proud grandfather of Tara Lees of Chatham, Mitchell Lees of Keswick, Jeremy Lees of Tecumseh, Kristin Lees of Windsor, Gerry Lynn Lees of Chatham, and Mikayla Robertson of Pefferlaw. Al is missed by his beloved sister Lynn & Victor Barnes of Chatham. He is survived by his sisters Vivian & Ron Thomas, Ann Harris, and Veronica & Derek Mortimer, and his brother Neil Lees, all of England. Also remembered by his brother in-law Ron Carley of Georgia. Predeceased by his brother Dennis Lees. Many nieces and nephews, in England and Canada, also survive. Al will be especially missed by his special “little girl” Sadie. Al was an avid fisherman who took time to enjoy the sport whenever he could. He was known for his sunny disposition, as he could light up any room he entered. Al had such a presence everywhere he went and he will be missed by all who loved him. In keeping with Al’s wishes, cremation has taken place, with a family graveside service to take place at a later date. Donations made in memory of Al to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
