Obituary of Charlie Wilson

WILSON: Charles Clement A resident of Kent Bridge, Charlie Wilson passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, following his 80th birthday. Born in Merlin on January 9, 1931; he was the son of the late Charles and Alma (Thibeault) Wilson. Beloved husband of Shirley (Sangster) Wilson. Dear father of Rick & Sally Wilson of Dresden, Tracy & Larry Ladd of Stratford, Jeff & Cristy Wilson of Port Elgin, and Tamara & Rob Ricci of Hamilton, and the late Ron Wilson (1981). Father in-law of Lynn Beuglet of Ridgetown and Heather Wilson of Chatham. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Rhondelle, Britany, Emily and Scott Wilson, Jessica & Adam Haagsma, Rachel, Mackenzie, Jesse & Niki, and Jerrod & Sarah Ladd, Ryan Beuglet, Sara Smith and David Flynn.Great grandfather of Ruby Haagsma, Emma, Avery, Alysha and Monttel Ladd. Dearest brother to June Buchanan, Jean Pelfrey, and Joan & Dick Foster. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Keith Poehlman, Edward Buchanan and Roy Pelfrey. Charlie was a member of the “4C’s” bowling team and a longtime member of Chatham Baptist Church. Charlie always loved spending time with his family. He was active in warm weather and enjoyed family picnics, gardening, walking, swimming, and riding his motorcycle.
