Obituary of Ellen Dunkley

DUNKLEY: Ellen (Overfield) 1916-2011 A resident of Chatham, Ellen Dunkley was ‘promoted to Glory’ on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the lively age of 94 (and a ½). Beloved wife and widow of the late James (Jim) Dunkley (1981). Predeceased by her parents Will & Elizabeth (Cornforth) Overfield and one brother Alfred Overfield (1978). Ellen is survived by three adult children; William ‘Bill’ & wife Theresa Dunkley, Sheila Dunkley, and James ‘Jay’ & wife Irene Dunkley. Dear grandmother of five grandchildren; Lisa & Mark VanGalen, Robyn & Kevin Ferrier, Hollie Dunkley, Trevor & Crystal Dunkley, and Joel Dunkley. She will also be missed by six beautiful great grandchildren; Michael and Christopher VanGalen, Roman and Lauren Ferrier, and Emilie and Grace Dunkley. There will be no funeral service or visitation at this time. A Celebration of Ellen’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Salvation Army Chatham Citadel. Donations made in memory of Ellen to the Salvation Army or the Marsh St. Baptist Church in Ridgetown are welcomed and appreciated by the family. We rejoice to know that Ellen is now sitting at the feet of Jesus with all her loved ones and friends who have gone before her, and we will one day join her when our work here on earth is done.
