Obituary of John Burchiel

Burchiel: John, A resident of Chatham, John Burchiel passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre-Victoria Campus on February 14, 2011 at the age of 63. Born in Chatham, son of the late Whitney and Jennie (nee Lawton) Burchiel. Son-in-law of the late Robert and Nora Gillett. Loving husband of 43 years to Noreen Burchiel (nee Gillett). Dear father to Bridie (Rob) Tolman of Erin, Kimberley Burchiel of Toronto, Ryan (Jill) Burchiel of Essex and Katie Burchiel of Chatham. Proud grandfather to Kylar, Erin, Kaedon, Emma and Loghan. John is survived by his uncle Ron McLarty. Predeceased by his brother James Burchiel Sr. John was a retired employee of Siemens in Chatham. He was also a member of the Kent Historic Auto Club. He also enjoyed tinkering and working in his shop, hunting and fishing and spending time at his cottage in Lion’s Head. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Paul Millward officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to honour John’s life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
