Obituary of Maria D. Vilaranda

VILARANDA: Maria A resident of Chatham, Maria Vilaranda died peacefully surrounded by her family at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday, March 8, 2011 at the age of 79. Beloved wife of Joao Vilaranda. Loving mother of Manuel & Julia Vilaranda, Antonio & Brenda Vilaranda, Teresa & John Ferreira, Maria & BoaVentura Lopes, Miquelina & Jose Martinho, Firmino & Jody Vilaranda, Joe & Helen Vilaranda, Fernando & Tina Vilaranda, Anabela & Nelson Cavalas, Carlos & Amelia Vilaranda of Chatham, and Margaret & Joe Pisquem, all of Chatham-Kent. Cherished grandmother of 23 grandchildren; Tony, Susan, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Victor, Sylvia, Anette, Michael, Steven, Melissa, Vincent, Kyle, Brian, Matthew, Tyler, Ashley, Brandon, Amanda, Alexandra, Jayden, Julian, Gabriella, and Vanessa; and one great grandson Cruz. Predeceased by her infant children Antonia and Jose Luies, brothers Firmino and Manuel Lameiras, and granddaughter Giselle Vilaranda. Family will receive friends the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon Street, Chatham on Saturday March 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in memory of Maria to the Lung Association or to the National Catholic Broadcasting Station (for televised daily Mass) would be appreciated.
