Obituary of Helen Jean VanRoboys

VanRoboys: Helen Jean (nee Ayres), A resident of Chatham, Helen VanRoboys passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the age of 80. She was born in Windsor and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Alva Ayres. Loving wife of Norman VanRoboys. Cherished mother of Carol VanRoboys of London, Don (Sandy) VanRoboys of Chatham, Wayne (Sue) VanRoboys of Chatham, Barbara (Rob) McGhie of Winnipeg and Gary (Tammy) VanRoboys also of Chatham. Proud grandmother to Christine (Tim), Cherie (Chris), Kim (Trevor), Jeff (Teara), Kelly (Matt), Krystle, Jennifer (Joe), Jessie, Sarah, Megan, Tyler, Aaron, Erica (Brian) and great-grandmother to Hannah, Julia, Coulter, Brodie, Reece, William and Annalyse. Dear sister to Alfred and Elsie Ayres of Toronto. The loss in the VanRoboys’ home will also be shared with Helen’s faithful feline companion Emma. She is predeceased by her daughter Linda; granddaughter Nicole; grandson Shawn; brother Jim and sister Margaret. Helen’s love of flowers, gardening and cooking are memories that will be shared amongst her family and friends. The fruits of her labour in both her gardens and kitchen benefitted all who had the privilege to visit her. This spirit of giving is a memory that will be shared by her family and be a true source of inspiration. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and seeking adventure while travelling in her RV. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 16. 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Daniel Bombardier officiating. Cremation to follow.
