Obituary of Roberta Chandler

CHANDLER, Margaret Roberta: A resident of Chatham, M. Roberta Chandler passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Meadow Park Nursing Home at the age of 91. Beloved wife to the late J. Irvin Chandler (2000). Cherished mother to Gary & Penny Chandler of Manitoulin Island, Brian & Sandee Chandler of Dresden, and Bob & Jeanne Chandler of Chatham. Forever missed by her 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 chosen granddaughters Marianna, Maria, and Melissa DeCola. Dear sister to Doris Rylett and her husband the late Elymer. Predeceased by her sisters Lucy Grover, Jeanne Fawcett, Ruth Jackson, Josie Grover, and brother John Ray Grover. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Roberta lived in Chatham her entire life, she was a long time member of Sprucedale United Church, a member of the United Church Women, and a member of the Maple City Centre for Older Adults. She worked for many years at the Russell Brown Drug Store. During retirement Roberta volunteered her time at the Public General Hospital. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
