Compton; Arthur Raymond, a resident of Chatham Retirement Resort. Arthur R. Compton died Friday May 6, 2011 at the age of 91. Born in Chatham son of the late John & Sophia (Remington) Compton. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Marion (Clark) Compton (1978). Dear father of Nancy & Leo Kelly, Ennismore and John & Lynne Compton, Chatham. Grandfather of Brad & Debbie Kelly, Bowmanville; Shawna & Brent Badour, Bowmanville; Tracey & Brian Russell, Cavan; Derek Compton & Suzie, Chatham and Kevin & Bethanie Compton, Chatham. Great Grandfather of Ryan & Dylan Kelly; Brittany & Justin Badour; Breann & Cameron Russell and Savannah & Nolan Compton. Brother of Margaret & Jim Herron, Chatham and the late Mary Ellen Roberts. Brother-in-law of Mike Roberts, Chatham. Mr. Compton worked for Libby McNeil for 50 years and was a Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 628 and the Moose Lodge of Chatham. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday May 10, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Robert Taylor, Port Lambton, officiating. Interment Pardoville-Union Cemetery. Donations in memory of Arthur to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation or Cystic Fibrosis would be appreciated.
