Obituary of Gordon David Walker

WALKER: Gordon David – A resident of Ridgetown, Gordon Walker passed away at the Village Retirement Residence in Ridgetown on Friday, May 27, 2011 in his 90th year. Born in Kingston, Gordon was the son of the late Henry Clinton and Mabel Etna (Burtch) Walker. Beloved husband of the late Gloria Elizabeth (Conner) Walker (1991). Loving father to D. Karl Walker (Carol) of Trenton, Sharyn Trimm (Robert) of Middleton, Nova Scotia, Wendy Lee Bell (Bill) of Mississauga and Gordon P. Walker of Chatham. Proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 13 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Joyce Fish of Belleville. Gordon is survived by his sister-in-law Marg Servage of Kingston. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Gordon served in the RCAF for 30 years. After retiring from the Air Force, Gordon worked as the Administrator at the Ridgetown Agricultural College. He was an active member of the Ridgetown Chamber of Commerce, as well as a member of the Ridgetown Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed numerous rounds of golf. He was also very musical, specializing in piano, but often found strumming the guitar or picking the banjo. A Private Family Service will be held for Gordon at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations made in memory of Gordon to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
