Obituary of June Pilkey

PILKEY: June Elaine (nee Allison). A resident of Blenheim, June Pilkey passed away at her home on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the age of 68. Born in Windsor, daughter of the late James and Velma (Volkes) Allison. Beloved wife of Rick Pilkey for 48 years. Dear mother of Richard Todd Pilkey (Nicole) of Blenheim, and Brenda June LaMarsh (Dave) of Blenheim. Grandmother of Shanabri Pilkey, Allison Sawdon (Trevor), Richard “Allen” Pilkey, Heather LaMarsh, David LaMarsh, Shannon Pilkey, Kaileb Turner, Megan Turner, Sarah Pilkey, and Joshua Pilkey, all of Blenheim. Great-grandmother of Daemyn LaMarsh. Sister of George Allison (Marilyn) of Port Franks, Kathy Pudliner (Dan) of Brooklin, Jim Allison (Bonnie) of Brantford, DarleneAlbert (Dan) of Apsley, Dixie Murray of Cobourg, and Kimberly Allison of Blenheim. Predeceased by sister-in-law Mary Allison, and brother-in-law Brad Murray. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Mrs. Pilkey was a devoted member of Word of Life Church, Blenheim where she taught Sunday School. She worked at Southwest Regional Centre for many years, and helped operate Pier Flooring in Blenheim for 10 years. She was lovingly known around town as “The Prayer Lady”. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Joyce of Word of Life Church officiating. Interment to follow.
