Obituary of John A. Montgomery

Montgomery: John Alfred "Pops", A resident of Chatham, John Montgomery, passed away after a brief illness at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the age of 76. He was born in Windsor and was the son of the late Alfred and Pauline (nee Haig) Montgomery. Dear father of John and Karen Montgomery of Chatham. Proud grandfather to Jason Montgomery and Matthew Montgomery; and great-grandfather to Gracie Montgomery, all of Chatham. Dear brother to Katherine Smith of Chatham, Pearl Hall of B.C., Pauline Trudell of Windsor and Gord Montgomery also of B.C. Predeceased by his brothers Bob Montgomery, Bill Montgomery and his sister Shirley Lawrence. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Elder Warren Chambers officiating. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to honour John’s life can be made to the Chatham Minor Baseball Association and would be appreciated by the family.
