Obituary of Matheus Van Hoof

Van Hoof: Matheus, A resident of Chatham, Matheus Van Hoof passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the University Campus of the London Health Sciences Centre at the age of 79. He was born in Holland and was the son of the late Martinus and Anna (nee Neijnens)Van Hoof. Loving husband of 56 years to Lamberta “Betty” (nee Cornelissen) Van Hoof. Dear father to the late Trudy VanderLinden (2009) and her husband Louis, Paulina Dolson and her husband Kevin, Elizabeth Badiuk and her husband Rick, all of Chatham. Proud grandfather to Matthew VanderLinden (Jackie), Laura Vandecaveye (Brandon), Sarah VanderLinden (Gerratt), Ann-Marie Corrigan (Jamie); Heather(Ronny), Perry and Hannah Dolson; Lauren, Colin and Elyse Badiuk. Great-grandfather to Claire VanderLinden and Layne Corrigan. Dear brother to Johanna Nossin-VanHoof. Predeceased by his brothers Bernard, Wilhelmus, and Petrus Van Hoof. Matheus was the founder and operator of Van Hoof Roofing and Siding until his retirement in 1989. He was also a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Chatham. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croydon St. Chatham on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. John Jasica celebrant. Interment will take place at New St. Anthony Cemetery Chatham. Memorial donations to honour Matheus' life can be made to the London Health Sciences Critical Care / Intensive Care Units and would be appreciated by the family.
