Obituary of Edna Steadman

STEADMAN: Edna Doreen (Patterson) Edna passed away peacefully at Copper Terrace in Chatham with her children by her side on July 11, 2011 in her 93rd year. She had a long, fulfilled life including a teaching career that spanned 30 years. Much of her life was spent on the Plympton-Enniskillen Townline and in Wyoming. Edna is survived by her children Kathleen (Gary) Bothwell; Janet (Brian) Markham; Maurice (Maureen) Wyoming; and her daughter-in-law Karen (Sarnia); predeceased by her husband Tom and their son Murray; grandmother to Jody, Jason, Joel, Tyler, Dale, Laura, Nicole, Jocelyn, Brett and Chad; and great-grandmother to Alex, Chelsea, Jett and Jesse. Edna was born and grew up in Alberta and is survived by her four sisters Helen, Margaret, Marion and Catherine and her brother Donald; predeceased by her brother Neil. She was a member of the United Church Women, Eastern Stars, Rebeccas, Historical Society, Retired Teachers and the Wyoming Fair Board. Edna had a sense of adventure and loved to travel, visiting 5 of the 7 continents. She and her sisters travelled to many elder hostels in Canada and the United States. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and instilled in her family a love for learning. Special thanks to the staff at Copper Terrace for their care. A Memorial Service will be held for Edna, Sunday, August 28th 2011, 1:00 at the Wyoming United Church.
