Obituary of Betty June Fraser

Fraser: Betty June (nee Deacon), A resident of Chatham, Betty Fraser passed away at home with family by her side, on Monday, August 1, 2011 at the age of 80. She was born in Sarnia, daughter of the late Fred and Grace (nee Patterson) Deacon. Loving wife of 58 years to Bruce Fraser (O.P.P. Ret.). Dear mother of Larry Fraser of Sarnia, Joanne Robbins of Port Elgin, Bruce Fraser Jr. of Chatham. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren- Mandy Robbins, Tyler Fraser, Bill Robbins, Troy Fraser, Brandon Hubbarth and Trista Fraser. Proud great-grandmother to 3 special great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Louise Smith of Petrolia. Predeceased by her sister Eileen Johns. Betty was a retired Early Childhood Education teacher. Her love of children was evident in her commitment and dedication to their growth and development, in their formative years. She also taught as a Resource teacher for many years. Betty was a dedicated member of St. Andrews United Church and the Active Lifestyle Centre in Chatham. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge #42 Chatham. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Rebekah Lodge Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Johanna Vander Spek officiating. Cremation to follow with a Private Family Interment at Petrolia Cemetery at a later date.
