Obituary of Isabel Dawdy

DAWDY: Isabel (nee Gilson). A resident of the Chatham Retirement Resort, Isabel Dawdy passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in her 90th year. Born in West Lorne, Isabel was the daughter of the late James and Mary (McGill) Gilson. Beloved wife of the late Roy C. Dawdy (1990). Loving mother of Linda Addy of Chatham and her late husband Bob (2010) and Larry Dawdy and his wife Sue of Dorchester. Proud grandmother of Duane Addy and his wife Jill of Chatham and Chris Dawdy and his wife Kristina of London. Great-grandmother to her cherished great-grandson Jacob. Also missed by their her special niece Marilyn Smyth. Predeceased by her sisters Laura Tolmie and Gladys Gilson and her brother Clarence Gilson. Isabel had lived in St Thomas for most of her life. Upon her retirement in 1980, she moved to Rondeau and eventually to Chatham in 1991. She had enjoyed many winters with Roy in Florida. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Tiffin officiating. Cremation has taken place. An inurnment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in West Lorne at a later date. Donations made in memory of Isabel to the M.S.
