Obituary of Herbert 'Bert' Kenny

KENNY: Herbert “Bert” – A resident of Blenheim, Bert Kenny went to be with his wife Jean on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the age of 80. Born in Raleigh Township, Bert was the son of the late David Edward and Gladys (Dowling) Kenny. Beloved husband of the late Jean Kenny (nee Ford) (August, 2011). Predeceased by his first wife Esther (nee Silverstone). Dear father to David and Jeannie Kenny, Jon Kenny, Stephen and Cheryl Kenny, Mike and Sue Kinnear and Irene “Renie” and Rick Gundersen, all of Alberta. Stepfather to John and Deb Rumble of Merlin, Barb and Doug McTavish of Chatham and Debbie and Bob Wardle of Blenheim. Proud grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandfather to several great-grandchildren. Bert is survived by his brother Donald Kenny (Joyce) of Chatham, his sister Irene Wemp of West Lorne and his sister-in-law Cora Kenny. Predeceased by his sisters Lillian Maynard and Blanche Kenny, his brothers, Lloyd, Norman and Eddie and his infant brothers Ernest and Charles. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Bert was a veteran, having served in the Korean War. Cremation has taken place. A private Family Service will be held for Bert at Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim at a later date.
