Obituary of Claire Taylor

TAYLOR: Claire Lloyd. A resident of Blenheim, Claire Taylor died peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus on Friday August 26, 2011 at the age of 81. He was born in Howard Township and was the son of the late Ernest and Ruby (nee Cofell) Taylor. Beloved husband of Nan Taylor for 63 years. Loving father of Mike Taylor (Jan) of Tilbury, Bob Taylor (Lesly) of Kingston, Linda Van Watershoot (Pete) of Port Lambton, Patty Dierckens of Windsor, and the late Larry Taylor (June 21, 2011). Dear father-in-law of Anne Rosart of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of Chris, Jason, Michelle, Janelle, Danielle, Aaron, Katie, Matthew, Stephanie, and Ryan; and step-grandfather of Tim & Brad. Fondly remembered by his 11 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ross Taylor (Dorothy) of Dresden, Allan Taylor (Debbie) of Colorado Springs, and the late Donald Taylor, Lyle Taylor, and Bill Taylor. Claire was a dedicated life member of the Optimist Club. He served as its Governor of South Western Ontario at one time during his many years of volunteer service with the organization. He also was an active volunteer at the Blenheim Seniors Club. He cooked and canned in support of the Club. Everyone looked forward to the chili sauce every year. Claire was a Master Carpenter. He was a former employee of Warwick Lumber and had retired from the Kent County School Board. Claire was member of Town Council in the former Municipality of Wallaceburg before settling in Blenheim with his young family. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Vanderveeken officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim at a later date. Donations in memory of Claire to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, C.N.I.
