SMYTH: Mary Arlene - A resident of Blenheim, Mary Smyth passed away at The Village Retirement Residence in Ridgetown on Saturday, September 3,2011 at the age of 88. Born in Chatham, Mary was the daughter of Sam and Mildred Boyce. Beloved wife of the late Glen S. Smyth (1979). Loving mother of Roy (Darlene) of Port Glasgow and Texas, Lulu of Palmyra, Doris (Terry) of Tillsonburg, Murray (Chris) of Bothwell, Mary of Portland, Oregon, Ruth Ann (Don) of Burlington, Rick of Belmont, Jim (Cathy) of Chatham, Lonnie (Laura) of Mckay's Corners, Tracy (Steve) of Shrewsbury and Cheryl (Wes) of Fanny Bay, B.C. Predeceased by her sons Larry (1970) and Sam (2007). Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law Brenda. Proud grandmother of many grandchildren and great-grandmother to many great grandchildren. Dear sister to Wilda Boyce. Mary is predeceased by her brothers Alec Boyce, Earl Boyce, Otto Boyce and her sister Jean Lachine. Also missed by many friends and extended family, particularly all her Bingo partners at the Chatham Towers. Mary will be remembered for her enviable social skills, and her love for her large family. She was a great mother and a hard worker, having raised her children while working alongside Glen on the family farm in Mull. As per Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Private Family Service will be held at Pardoville Cemetery at a later date.
