Obituary of Jean Jones

Jones: Jean Eleanor (nee Gilbert), A resident of Chatham, Jean Jones passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born in Dover Township and was the daughter of the late John and Pearl (nee Stacey) Gilbert. Beloved wife of the late Gerald Jones (2009). Dear mother to Ron and Brenda Jones of Richards Landing-St. Joseph’s Island, Ont., Neil and Wanda Jones, Nancy and Bruce Reissner, of Chatham. Proud grandmother to Morgan and Michele Jones, Angela and Jeff Szusz, Ian, Ryan and great-grandmother to Noah, J.J., Wesley, Colin and Peyton. Dear sister to Nora Herbert, Mary Ellen Mortier, Velma Rose and her husband Ken, Dick Gilbert and his wife Ruth, and Evelyn Patterson. Jean will also be dearly missed by her sister- in- laws Shirley Gilbert, Jean Gilbert and Mary Gilbert. Also, Jean will be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Murray, Glen and Eldon Gilbert and by her brother-in-laws Perc Herbert, Bert Mortier and Ross Patterson. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Maroney officiating. Interment to follow at Merlin Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Jean’s life can be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family.
