Obituary of Richard H. Snake

SNAKE: Richard H. - A resident of Blenheim, and formerly of Ridgetown, Richard Snake passed away at his residence on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the age of 62. Born in Chatham, Richard was the son of the late William and Violet (Moore) Snake. Dear brother to Susan White (Ira) of Walpole Island, John Snake (Nina) of Blenheim and Barbara Kelly (Len) of Ridgetown. Proud uncle of eight nieces and nephews, and great-uncle to many great-nieces and great-nephews. Richard will be missed by his many friends with whom he visited daily at Tim Horton’s. He had a knack for fishing, and his favourite fishing spots were in Erieau and Shrewsbury. Richard will be remembered for his years of service as a crossing guard. He had worked as a body man in numerous locations, most recently Classic Autos, and also had his Chef’s papers. He had worked as a Chef at Smitty’s in British Columbia, as well as at a dude ranch in Alberta. Richard had a heart of gold, and would often use his culinary skills for good, making soup for those less fortunate in Windsor. The Snake family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Joyce officiating. Cremation to follow with a private family inurnment to be held at a later date. Donation made in memory of Richard to the Word of Life Church (Soup Kitchen) would be appreciated by the family.
