Obituary of Arlington Knight

KNIGHT: Arlington Elias (Arley). A resident of Chatham and formerly of Essex and Dresden, Arlington Knight passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the age of 82. Born in Woodslee, son of the late Wilfred and Eva (Steen) Knight. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Hatt) Knight for 63 years (July 10, 1948). Dear father of June Hopper and her husband Wilfred of Chatham, Cheryl Lemke and her husband Earl of Woodstock, and the late Lloyd Knight (2001). Grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 12. Brother of Delbert and Viane Knight of Corunna, and Donna and Jim Lawton of Essex. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Arley retired from General Motors, Windsor in 1980. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday, October 7, 2011 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Skillings officiating. Cremation with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Windsor. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
