Obituary of E. Madeline Johnson

JOHNSON: E. Madeline (nee Hardie)- A resident of Leamington, and formerly of Blenheim, Madeline Johnson passed away at the Leamington Hospital on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Born in Tilbury East in 1920, Madeline was the daughter of the late Herbetrus H. and Edith A. (Randall) Hardie. Beloved wife of the late Gerald M. “Buck” Johnson (1987). Loving mother of Reta Bekaan (Thomas) of Leamington and Julia Chapman (Sidney) of St. Thomas. Proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren. Madeline is the last surviving member of her family. She is predeceased by her brothers Howard, Ernest and Josiah Hardie and her sisters Nina Tarr, Hilda Nicholson, Bernice Dawson and Cleva Wigle. Madeline thoroughly enjoyed her time at the Blenheim Senior’s Centre and having coffee with friends at Jack’s Restaurant. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Terris officiating. Interment to follow at Shanks Cemetery, Romney Township.
