JACOBS, Jack; It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and friend Jack Jacobs on November 2, 2011 at the age of 85. Loving husband of the late Jean Jacobs nee Padbury (1994). Survived by his two daughters Linda & Ron Havens and Susan & Charles Dozois. Cherished grandfather of Jaclyn & Rodney Coreau, Steven Havens & Shannon Thornicroft, Kathryn & Brian Chalmers, and Tyler Dozois. Survived by his siblings Helen Harvey, Mary-Lou McCormick, Patricia Centofanti, Richard Crackel, Donald Crackel, and Nancy Stammler. Predeceased by sister Jean Griffiths. Jack was a World War II Navy Veteran, a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.28,and he retired from Navistar after 30 years. Thank-you to the staff at Residence on the Thames, and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Legion Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Giurin officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
