Obituary of Douglas Donaldson

Donaldson, Douglas Andrew September 12 1937 – November 8 2011 It is with great sorrow that after a long and courageous battle with cancer we announce the passing of Doug Donaldson. Devoted partner for over 40 years to Barbara Haskell. Dear son of the late Andrew and Winnifred Watt Donaldson. Brother of the late Jim and his wife Dolly, and Fred and his wife Grace. Loving father of Mike and his wife Sue and Jim and his wife Monica. Cherished “Dougie Daddy” to Debra Gallie, Patty Franco, Lori Haskell and Melanie Randall and Todd and Geri Haskell. Caring grandfather to AJ (Tanya), Zack, and Ashleigh Donaldson and Jenna (Eric) and Tara Haskell. Brand new Great-Grandfather to Alexis Lee. Also remembered by his nieces and nephews. Doug was a dedicated salesman for Byers Truck and Trailer for twenty five years. Doug’s gregarious personality and sense of humour provided endless hours of amusement to the family and is a theme in many of our memories of him. We will miss his laugh, his stories and especially the manner in which he expressed important opinions. Doug was not only an avid sports fan who loved the Detroit Tigers, he was also a Master Bowler for many years. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
