Obituary of Roy Beacom

Beacom, Eugene LeRoy (Roy), a resident of Chatham. It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Beacom announce his death on Thursday November 17, 2011 at the age of 98. Born in Harriston, Ontario, son of the late George & Minnie Louise (Ward) Beacom. Husband of Shirley and the late Margaret (1977). Father of Gardiner & Joan Beacom, Calgary; Janet & Glen Smyth, Chatham; Betty & Paul Thornton, Simcoe and Kirk & Delilah Beacom, Calgary. Also survived by his grandchildren & great grandchildren: Jason & Lindsay Beacom; Tyler, Carrie, Aynsleigh & Kieryn Beacom; Christopher, Angie & Adam Smyth; Carolyn, Mike, Braden & Taryn Eltervoog; Michael, Katherine, Samuel & Malcolm Smyth; Matthew & Fei Fei Thornton; Greg, Marie & Marian Thornton; Sean Beacom; Logan Beacom; and Kiri Beacom. Brother of Kathleen Fritz of Brooklin, ON; and the late John Beacom and William Beacom. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday November 23, 2011 from 12:30 - 1:30 with a Service of Remembrance to follow at 1:30 p.m. Donations in memory of Roy to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
