Obituary of Dorothy May Krause

Krause, Dorothy May (Allen): A resident of Scarborough, Dorothy Krause passed away on November 19, 2011 at the Scarborough General Hospital at the age of 80. Sadly missed by her husband of 51 years Dieter A. Krause, her nephew Jim Knowles of Rondeau Bay Estates and his children Cindy, Joanne, Jamie and Tracey. Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, former Chatham Deputy Fire Chief Abraham (Abe) Allen and his wife Gladys, and her sister June Knowles. Lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Peter Knowles and Gwen, cousin Shirley Ostrom and husband Bob, and cousin Clara Parker. Dear sister- in- law Inge Papenfuss and her husband Karl and their son Uwe, his wife Sabine and their son Nico. Also lovingly remembered by Lieselotte Neufurth and family, and Lilly Held and family, all of Germany. Dorothy was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario. After finishing high school Dorothy took up employment with Bell Canada. When working as a sales representative in Kitchener, Ontario she met her husband Dieter and they were married in June of 1960 in Chatham and settled in Kitchener. When her husband joined the Metro Toronto Police in 1966, they moved to Toronto where she took up employment as a receptionist with Ronald A Chisholm Ltd. on Bloor Street. In 1996 she retired from that company and joined her husband in enjoying retirement. They travelled extensively in Europe, USA, Mexico, Cuba, Panama, and Columbia, enjoyed their cottage in Muskoka in the summer and their annual February car trip to Florida. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the St. Thomas Anglican Church, 7077 Grand River Line, Pain Court, on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 3 PM with the Rev. Kristen Oliver officiating. Interment St. Thomas Cemetery, Pain Court. Donations in memory of Dorothy to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated to by the family.
