Obituary of Helen 'Frances' Power

Power, Helen Frances, on Sunday December 4, 2011, Frances Power (recently of St. Andrew’s Residence, Chatham), daughter of the late Mary (nee Fitzmaurice) and Herbert Weaver, in her 90th year. Frances was born and raised on Langford Avenue, Toronto and married at Holy Name Parish in January, 1945. Sister of the late Adele (Alf Benninger), William, Maurice (Connie Paglialunga), Irene (George Phillips), and Gerald. Survived by her brother Bert (Eleanor Lobraico). Dear wife of 66 years to John (‘Jack’); beloved mother of Michael (deceased), Mary, Cathleen (Jim Lanthier), John (Dayle Buller), Daniel (Katherine Apostol), Rosanne (Timothy Baker); adored grandmother of Michael, Nicholas, Sarah, Matthew, Dylan, Brendan, Kaitlin and Nathaniel. Great-grandmother of Zachary, Kieran, and Braedan. Fran’s kindness, generosity and unwavering support for her husband, children and grandchildren will be sadly missed. She will be fondly remembered by friends and acquaintances from the many places she lived, including Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Kitchener. Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday December 9, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. Interment and Celebration of Fran’s life to be held in Toronto and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fran to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
