BLONDEEL: George Rene. A resident of Chatham, George Blondeel passed away on January 30, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, at the age of 74. Born in Chatham, George is the son of the late Gustaav and Eliza (Houtekier) Blondeel. Cherished husband of Patricia (Labadie) Blondeel. Dear father of Jamie Blondeel (Shannon), Tim Blondeel (Sue), Rene Blondeel (Jeff), Greg Blondeel (Mary), Sharon King (Mike), Kathy Monroe, Deb White (Dave), David Thompson, and Leanne Thatcher. Beloved grandfather of Sarah, Brittany, Matt, Samantha, Dillion, Michelle, Monique, Kathryn, Blake, Bailey, Holly, Casey, Corey, Josh, and Alicia. Dear great-grandfather of Khara, Seirrah, Connor, and Kaiden. Beloved brother of Rogier Blondeel (Lena), Mary Lucier (Romeo), Maurice Blondeel (Sue), Edward Blondeel, Jean Coopman, Norman Blondeel (Janet), and Jerome Blondeel (Lorainne). Predeceased by son Lonnie Blondeel, nephew David Blondeel, brother Charlie Blondeel, and sister Leona Tetreault. Fondly remembered by many step-brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and again at the Praise Fellowship Church, 165 Park Ave. East, Chatham on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. where the Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Koppes officiating. Interment in St.Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
