Obituary of Lori Michele Ross

ROSS: Lori Michele (Chambers). It is with profound sadness that the family announces Lori’s passing on January 31, 2012 at the age of 44 at her residence. Lori is the beloved wife of Bob Ross of Merlin. She is the precious daughter of Helen & Fred Lehmann of Charing Cross and Ken Chambers of Merlin and his late wife Deena. She will be sadly missed by her sons Daniel of Chatham, and Sean at home. She is also survived by her sister and best friend Lisa Chambers of Burlington. Lori was predeceased by her grandparents George & Edna Chambers, and Alfred & Grace VanEvery. Also surviving are her brother-in-law Bill Ross & wife Glenda of Merlin, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Lori fought a lifelong battle with Type 1 Diabetes, and kept an upbeat attitude until God decided it was time. She was a truly dedicated employee as a Hotel Guest Representative of the Holiday Inn Express (formerly Wheels Inn) of Chatham for the past 18 years. She retired in 2011 due to declining health. Lori was never one to complain or seek sympathy. She was a wonderful mother and was fortunate to have had Bob come into her life. Lori will be remembered for her sense of humour, strength, and determination. She is now free from a constant struggle of diabetes and all the illnesses that she has endured as a result. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday February 3, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Skillings officiating. Interment Pardoville Cemetery, Raleigh Township. In lieu of flowers and for anyone wishing to honour Lori, her wish was to direct donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, focusing on Type 1 Childhood Diabetes.
